Layout Scenery
I haven't added anything here yet as it would be a bit hard to put scenery to a layout when I haven't got the location prepared for a layout let alone start building the baseboard, lay the track and install all the points motors, wiring and other assorted circuitry. It would be a bit silly to try and start doing the scenery at this stage of the project I would think!
There will be plenty to add to this section once I get to this part of the project. How do I model the roads and pavements that I will need? What about any grass areas? I tried doing grass areas on a previous OO gauge layout and, while the flock stayed on the board nicely, I don't think I got the colour combinations right. How do I add the buildings so that they look like they belong on the layout and not just "plonked" on the board. The finishing touches will be important too. I've seen other people's layouts and the thing that fascinates me, once I've had a good look at the basics of the layout and it's operation, is the little touches that make the layout come to life.
After all, why spend all the effort I'm planning on spending on this project and then neglect this part of the project. It would make it all such a waste if I did that. Again, as with most aspects of this project, there is a forum devoted to the subject on the site's forum. Should you be interested, I've added a link to the site forum below.
